Question -
Our product list contains inactive products.
Would it be possible to remove the inactive products without having the resolved spends fall to the resolution center because the product name link no longer exists?
Answer -
It is possible to deactivate/remove products, however doing so will interfere with your ability to edit spend records that contained the product before it was deactivated and as you mention, it may result in RC errors.
As long as there is spend in the system using the product in question there is a risk posed in deactivating/removing them.
I would suggest to instead update the description of the product to reflect that it is no longer in use rather than removing it. Then simply create the new products you would like to be used moving forward.
Alternatively, we can work with you to re-associate the products to a different company/group in your tree in which your users cannot access. This too however poses risks in attempting to regenerate reports for previous years.
