Question -
I keep getting 'duplicate spend instance detected' errors in my resolution center, why would these errors appear and how do I clear these errors?
Answer -
In order for a spend record to fall to the Resolution Center with a Duplicate Spend alert, the following five values on your spend must be the same as an existing spend in your site:
1) Covered Recipient
2) Spend Date
3) Spend Value
4) Nature Purpose
5) Product
To research this issue, we suggest to first review the spend record being identified as a duplicate.
Note down the CR listed, the spend date and value, the nature and purpose, as well as any referenced products.
With this information you can search the system for existing spends of the same nature.
Navigate to the spend tracking drop down and select the search option.
Search for spend associated to the CR in question of the amount and date provided.
Often times the duplicate error is the result of:
1) a true duplicate being created which will need to be removed - you can do so by selecting the gear next to the spend record in the resolution center and selecting the 'remove' button to remove the record from your system.
2) multiple transactions of the same value, made on the same date, for the same CR, of the same nature/purpose, and the same product
This DOES happen so if you have verified the number of spends meeting this criteria is correct, you may 'Ignore' the duplicate spend instance error from the resolution center to create the additional spend record(s). This can be done by selecting the Ignore option to the right of the error listed at the top of your spend editor page.
